Jackpot Roping

Nick roped yesterday at the Troy Lowe jackpot. He did so good. He had a lot of fun. He endedup wih two spots in the third go. Unfortunately, he missed the steer when he and Clay were roping together and his partener, Max, missed the other steer. We know you'll win next time, Nick! You did great. These are some pictures and video. Sorry-they are not very good. It is very difficult to take a good picture in the indoor arena.

Science Fair

Cooper and Taylor did the science fair together. There project was "How much sugar is in our favorite snacks?" They did great! There project was very informative. (I don't know if their dad will be drinking a Pepsi too often now.) They figured out how much sugar was in certain snacks and then exctly how many sugar cubes this equaled. (I hope that makes sense.) This is what they found:
*Gatorade: 14 sugar cubes
*Symphony Bar: almost 16 sugar cubes
*Capri Sun: 4 1/2 sugar cubes
*Pepsi: 17 1/2 sugar cubes
*Hawaiian Punch: 18 1/4 sugar cubes
*Pringles: 1 1/2 sugar cubes
*Fruit Snacks: 3 1/4 sugar cubes
*Frosted Flakes: 2 1/4 sugar cubes
*Teddy Grahams: 5 1/4 sugar cubes
*Jell-O: 4 3/4 sugar cubes
*Oreo Cakesters: 2 1/2 sugar cubes
*Rice Krispies Treats: 2 sugar cubes
***Bubble Tape: 28 1/2 sugar cubes***
No more Bubble Tape formy kids.
Cooper and Taylor, I am so proud of you. You worked together so well. Awesome!
Brooklyn had to help too.
Thanks Dad for sitting at the science fair ALL night while mom cleaned all the mice poop at the posse building.

Brooklyn at Preschool

Brooklyn has been having so much fun at preschool. I can't believe how smart she is. She knows all of her letters and sounds. (Ask her. She loves to repeat them.) She can find a rhyme for any word that you tell her. (Whe we are driving in the car, she likes me to tell her a word and then she tells me all the words that rhyme with that word. She can do this for a loooong time.) She can count to 18. She can actually count to 50, except she skips 19.??? She sings lots of songs that we have learned at preschool. Her favorites are "Down by the Bay" and "Sally teh Camel". She can write her name. She can write all of the letters in the alphabet. What am I going to do with her for another year and a-half??? (J/K) She is very excited to learn how to read.
Brooklyn, I am so pround of you. Thanks for being the BEST preschool student. I love you!
These are a few pictures of things we have done at preschool. She is writing with shaving cream to practice her letters. (She is also trying to get shaving cream on her daddy.) She brought her pink teddy bear to the Teddy Bear picnic. One of her favorite things to do is paint.

Snow Fun

A couple of weeks ago, we went snowmobiling on the mountains above Plymouth. (Thanks Neil and Kenyon!) It was so fun. Cooper was a little nervous to let Nick pull him in the tube. (Can you blame him?) There wasn't a lot of snow, but it was a very nice day.

Cooper receives his Bear

At the pack night in January, Cooper received his Bear. This isn't a very good picture, but it is the only picture I got because I had to go with him when he received his award. In this picture, Cooper is reading his part in a skit.
Cooper has worked so hard on getting his scouting awards. He has only been in the bear den for 3 months. He also earned a gold arrow point and a silver arrow point. We are so proud of him. He is an awesome boy. He is such a hard worker. These are just a few of the many things he had to do to earn his Bear:
*Learn about the state of Utah-the state bird, teh state tree, the state flower, the state flag, etc.
*learn some folklore stories
*recycle newspapers for one month
*trace your family history
*bake cookies
*make snacks for a den meeting
*prepare part of your brekfast, lunch, and supper
*make some trail food
*cook something outdoors (Thanks, Dad!)
*go on an outing with your family
*have a family fun night
*learn how to be prepared for a fire, winter accident, school bus accident, and car accident
*go grocery shopping with a family member
*build a model, and many, many more.
As you can see, Cooper has been very busy. We are so proud of you Cooper. Keep up teh good work.

Taylor's 7th Birthday Party

Okay, I am really, really slow posting pictures. I am going to try to catch up for the last couple months. :)
Taylor's seventh birthday was February 21st. Nick had to work that weekend, so sweet Taylor had her birthday party a week later. She had so much fun! She had some of her cute friends over after school. They unwrapped gifts, ate pizza and breadsticks, played with makeup, and watched Madagascar 2. Her friends that came were Hannah, Jentry, Kortnie, Brandi, Mandy, Brooklyn (her sister), and Brianna. The girls had a lot of fun. Taylor got so many cute things. I was very proud of her for including Brooklyn, in fact, all of the girls included Brooklyn in everyhting they were doing. Cooper had Whitney come over, so he wouldn't be too bored. They had fun riding bikes and playing outside.
